It seems like a no-brainer to rescue a lost dog when you see one. Many of us have done it — not everyone would take the risk, though.
But one man, known by his Rumble username Welshdrive, didn’t hesitate to save a dog he saw in the middle of a main road. His dash cam caught the moment on video.
The road has several curves, which would make it difficult for drivers to see the dog before it was too late. In fact, the dog gets pretty close to some passing cars during the rescue.
Welshdrive’s kindness isn’t the most adorable thing about this rescue, though.
The dog steals the show, almost immediately flopping down on the street for belly rubs from his rescuer!
Welshdrive hops back in his car to call the police, but the doggo takes off down the road, leaving his rescuer behind. Thanks to his regular cardio workout routine, the Good Samaritan catches up with the runaway and finds the pup’s humans, who lived further down the road! It turns out this dog is a serious escape artist and gets out frequently.
We’re glad this Houdini of a canine made it home safely, and we wish his humans luck with dog-proofing their house so he doesn’t go on the run again.
