While many of us are mourning the loss of Carrie Fisher today, there is one special being who may be feeling her loss more deeply than most.
That would be Gary Fisher, Carrie’s French Bulldog. Gary goes with Carrie on many adventures, including interviews and even movie sets. Here he is with her on the set of Catastrophe a week ago:
Besides being a great travel companion, Gary is also famous for his tongue. In a recent interview with Terry Gross, the loud slurping sound he made when kissing Carrie was a focal point.
He clearly loved her deeply.
Today, Gary tweeted a soulful goodbye to his mother:
Saddest tweets to tweet. Mommy is gone. I love you @carrieffisher

Later today, reflecting on his bond with Carrie, Gary tweeted, “I was always by your side but best of all you were always by mine.”

We hope that Gary’s humans will help him get through this loss, while many of us grieve along with him.
